2. OpenRouter API Key

The Extension requires an OpenRouter API key to function. Here's how we handle it:

Your OpenRouter API key is stored locally in your browser's storage (chrome.storage.sync) and is never transmitted to our servers.

Usage

When you use AI features, your API key is sent directly to OpenRouter's servers. We do not intercept or log these requests.

Security

We recommend using OpenRouter's key permissions to restrict usage and regularly monitor your API usage through OpenRouter's dashboard.

3. Data Processing

When you use the Extension's features, here's what happens to your data:

YouTube Summarization

The video URL or transcript you submit is sent directly to OpenRouter via your API key. We do not store this information.

Email Drafting

The email content you generate remains in your browser and is never sent to our servers.

LinkedIn to Notion

If you use this feature, the data flows directly from LinkedIn to your Notion account via your own integration.

4. Payment Information for Trial Conversions

For users who opt for the 3-day free trial of AbbreviAI Sidekick, payment information may be collected to enable automatic conversion to a paid plan upon trial completion. Here's how we handle it:

Secure Collection via Stripe

Payment information is collected securely through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. When you start a trial, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page, where you enter your payment details. AbbreviAI does not collect, store, or process your payment information directly.

Automatic Trial Conversion

If you provide payment details during the trial, Stripe securely stores this information and automatically charges the one-time payment of $19.99 at the end of the 3-day trial period unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel your trial at any time through your Stripe account or by contacting us.

Security and Privacy

Stripe uses industry-standard encryption and complies with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) to protect your payment information. No payment data is stored on our servers or within the Extension, ensuring your financial privacy.

5. Analytics

We use basic, anonymized analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the Extension:

• Feature usage frequency (without identifying users)
• Error reports to help fix bugs
• Aggregate performance metrics

This data cannot be used to identify individual users.
